Launch Symposium of CEST and Inaugural Academic Exchange Conference (China) Successfully Held in Shanghai

On July 29th to 30th, the Clean Energy Science and Technology (CEST) 2023 Launch Symposium and Inaugural Academic Exchange Conference (China) were successfully held at the Shanghai Chengtou Xinggang Building. The conference was organized by Singapore Universe Scientific Publishing and received strong support from the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai Research Center for Energy & Power. Additionally, Mr. Haitao Wu, Director of the High-Tech Division of the Lingang Management Committee of Shanghai, attended the event and delivered a speech.

The conference was chaired by Professor Weimin Yang from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, the co-editor-in-chief of CEST. Nearly 20 editorial board members from key universities and research institutes across China attended the meeting. Professor Xianfeng Fan, the Editor-in-Chief from School of Engineering, the University of Edinburgh United Kingdom, as well as editorial board members from various institutions such as the Institute for Ocean Engineering of Tsinghua University Shenzhen International Graduate School, Yale University's Microbial Sciences Institute, Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Department of Mechanical & Electro-mechanical Engineering at National Sun Yat-Sen University, participated online.

Key Agenda of the CEST Launch Symposium (China):

01: Professor Xianfeng Fan, Editor-in-Chief, acknowledged and thanked each member of the editorial board for their strong support and the efforts of the editorial office.

02: Editorial board members introduced their respective research fields under the leadership of co-editor-in-chief Professor Weimin Yang. The CEST editorial office provided a comprehensive overview of the development of Universe Scientific Publishing. Professor Weimin Yang highly praised the journal's focus areas and bilingual positioning, and summarized the pre-launch work comprehensively.

03: Professor Weimin Yang introduced the preparation for the publication of the first and second issues of the journal in 2023, and expressed sincere gratitude to the editorial board members for their contributions.

04: Dr. Li Jiyuan, the senior publisher from the Asia-Pacific Science Research Institute of Singapore, was invited to exchange professional ideas and provide guidance on the feasibility of inclusion in the ESCI database.

05: The editorial board team engaged in in-depth discussions on building journal characteristics, expanding journal influence, enhancing internationalization and quality of contributions, and initiated the recruitment of youth editorial board members to attract outstanding young talents and accelerate journal development.

Visit and Exchange at the Wisdom Library in Lingang:

Mr. Haitao Wu, Director of the High-Tech Division of the Lingang Management Committee of Shanghai, accompanied the editorial board team throughout their visit to the Shanghai Wisdom Library in Lingang (Permanent Venue of the World Laureates Forum).

July 29th — CEST Inauguration Anniversary:

July 29th was designated as the CEST Inauguration Anniversary. Building upon the successful exchanges during the conference, preparations for the next academic exchange conference were initiated. Beijing University of Chemical Technology aims to host the second conference and looks forward to the comprehensive implementation of CEST's academic exchange conferences in various cities across China.
