Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Hydrogen evolution technology driven by solar energy and electrochemical techniques is a promising path to solve the energy crisis and achieve carbon neutrality. Solar/electric hydrogen evolution has received extensive attention from researchers and has made gratifying research progress.

This special issue solicits the following topics, but not limited to:

1. Photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Design and preparation of novel semiconductor photocatalysts; Exploration on mechanism of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution; Engineering demonstration of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.

2. Photoeletrochemical hydrogen evolution

Design and preparation of novel photoanode/photocathode; Study on corrosion of photoelectrode; Interface study of photoelectrode; Study on surface states of photoelectrode.

3. Photovoltaic-electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Design and preparation of novel perovskite solar cell and electrocatalyst; Research on the integration of photovoltaic devices and electrocatalysts. Engineering demonstration of photovoltaic-electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution.

4. Electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Design and preparation of novel electrode materials; Study on phase transition mechanism of electrocatalyst; Engineering demonstration of electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution. Theoretical calculation of water splitting process.

5. Biomass conversion coupled hydrogen evolution

Novel biomass conversion coupled hydrogen production; Research on the transformation mechanism of biomass materials.
